He was able to explain the history of Pompeii in exacting detail that brought life to the ruins. Then our driver, who hardly spoke to us at all except to greet us at the pickup site of our hotel, drove us to Mt Vesuvius. THE DRIVER THEN DROPPED US IN THE PARKING LOT OF MOUNT VESUVIUS AND TOLD US WE HAD ONLY ONE HOUR TO COMPLETE THE CLIMB AND RETURN TO THE PARKING LOT. I’M 65 AND IN GOOD SHAPE, BUT THE OVERT…”
